Disable the Thumbnail Cache (Windows XP) Category: Home > Windows > Windows Explorer
This setting is used to stop explorer from caching thumbnail pictures and instead refresh any images every time a folder is opened.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'DisableThumbnailCache' using the settings below.
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
