Manage Windows File Protection Scans (Windows 2000/XP) Category: Home > Windows > System > Windows File Checker
This setting controls whether the Windows File Checker (SFC) should scan and replace the protected files during boot up.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'SFCScan' using the settings below.
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
