Create a System Crash Dump File (Windows NT/2000/XP) Category: Home > Windows > Troubleshooting > Crash Control
This setting controls whether Windows creates a dump file of the computer memory when a system crashes.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Change the value of "CrashDumpEnabled" according to the options in the table below.
- 0 = None
- 1 = Complete memory dump
- 2 = Kernel memory dump
- 3 = Small memory dump (64KB)
Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
