Check for Internet Explorer Updates (All Windows) Category: Home > Software > Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer 5 and higher has the ability to automatically check for software updates. This tweak controls that feature.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value, called "NoUpdateCheck" and set it to "1" to disable the update check or "0" to enable it.
Restart Internet Explorer for the change to take effect.
