Optimize Windows TCP/IP Connection Retransmissions (Windows NT/2000/XP) Category: Home > Network > Protocols > TCP-IP
This parameter determines the number of times TCP will retransmit a connect request (SYN) before aborting the attempt. The retransmission timeout is doubled with each successive retransmission in a given connect attempt.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'TcpMaxConnectRetransmissions' using the settings below.
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
