Disable Password Caching for Outlook Internet Mail (All Windows) Category: Home > Software > Microsoft Office > Outlook
As a security precaution, you may want to disable the password caching ability for all Internet mail protocols (IMAP, POP and Hotmail) in Outlook 2002. This setting will cause Outlook to request a password on each attempt to retrieve new mail.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'EnableRememberPwd' using the settings below.
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
Note: To enable this feature, you need to install Office XP SP1 or greater.
