Block Linked Images in Office XP Documents (All Windows) Category: Home > Software > Microsoft Office
As an added security measure you can configure Office XP to block linked Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) images that are placed in documents. This is useful to avoid to ability for documents to be tracked using hidden images.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'BlockHTTPImages' using the settings below.
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
Note: You must have Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2) or greater installed before this tweak will function.
