Open TIF Images with Internet Explorer (All Windows) Category: Home > Software > Internet Explorer
When you click a link to download a Tagged Information File Format (TIFF) image from a Web site, the Open button in the File Download dialog box may be disabled. This tweak allows you to open the file using Internet Explorer.
Open your registry and find the key [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tif]. Change the value of "(Default)" to the data below for your Windows version.
Imaging.Document - Windows 2000, 98, Me and XP
WangImage.Document - Windows 95 and NT.
Repeat the change under the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tiff] sub-key.
Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
