Hide the Welcome Screen (Windows 2000) Category: Home > Windows > Login and Authentication
This setting hides the welcome screen that is normally displayed each time the user logs on to Windows 2000 or XP Professional.
Open your registry and find the key below.
Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'NoWelcomeScreen' using the settings below.
Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
Note: Users can still display the welcome screen by selecting it on the Start menu or by typing "Welcome" in the Run dialog box.
